Summer Casual Days

During the summer months, our worship services have been somewhat less formal and taking on the tradition of a Camp Meeting service.  Also for several years, Peggy Ward has encouraged us to attend these services, and she does so again this year.

Here are the Top 5 reasons why you should attend "Casual" Days – St. Paul’s informal worships services every Sunday in Summer.

Number 5:  It’s Cool – literally and figuratively.  The sanctuary is air conditioned, the wearing of ties and sports jackets is discouraged, and the HOT choir robes are left lovingly on hangers, leaving a “cooler” congregation.

Number 4:  A chance to participate.  Your only get out of something what you put in.  Change your view and your neighbors by switching your seat.  An Amen is appropriate when you feel touched by the Spirit, maybe even a Hallelujah!  Look up your favorite hymn, raise your hand, and catch Tim’s eye.

Number 3:  The piano music during camp meeting is awesome!  Clap our hands, tap your feet, and nod your head to the rhythm and the beat.

Number 2:  The sermons will tell the story of hope, love, and forgiveness that Jesus Christ taught.  Let’s open our hearts and welcome in the Holy Spirit.

And the Number 1 reason to not miss a Sunday in Summer at St Paul is…………………    THE MUSIC

Hyms, gospels, spirituals and old time favorites.  While these tunes are great to listen to, they are even more fun to sing.
