Our Community
St Paul United Methodist Church in Gainesville has a strong commitment to Missions - local, stateside, and foreign.
On the local level, the people of St Paul find ways in their hearts to assist many people in the local Gainesville and Hall County community.
St. Paul UMC has supported missions outreach in a number of ways over past years. Currently we have service volunteers and provide regular financial support to the following organizations:
- Center Point - One of the many commitments in our Missions budget goes to support the Center Point organization which provides mentoring programs in our local primary and secondary schools within Hall County and Gainesville. Additionally, it provides counseling and guidance to students as well as an off campus meeting facility for religious based studies/fellowship. Some church members volunteer at Centerpoint throughout the year.
- Good News At Noon – Another one of St. Paul’s commitments is the Good News at Noon outreach. This organization provides spiritual support to many struggling individuals, help with meals, medical and dental care and other ways to help the poor and needy.
- Good News Clinic – As a supplement to Good News at Noon offering, a separate financial offering is made to the Good News Clinic which has recently moved into an expanded facility.
- Sisu Integrated Early Learning (formerly Challenged Child & Friends) – This organization provided ongoing support to families and children within our community. Our annual monetary gift is an important to making this work possible.

- Community Food Pantry – St. Paul and several sister congregations attempt to meet the urgent need for food to those in desperate situations. Our financial commitment and , personal involvement of church members contributes to real help.
- Gainesville Action Ministries – The GAM organization works to provide counseling, financial aid and transitional housing to people in need within Gainesville. This includes a wide range of support from a professional staff, supported by area churches and others.
- Family Promise - St. Paul teams with other churches in the area to provide short-term housing for families with children who otherwise would be homeless.
- Meals on Wheels - Approximately 350 seniors receive hot lunches delivered by friendly volunteers each Monday through Friday. For some seniors, this daily visit may be the only social interaction they have during the day.

- Habitat of Hall County - Habitat is a civic leader and game changer as they map and forge the way to a healthier, stronger community. Habitat sells affordable homes to families that work for local employers, but who often earn less than is needed to buy a market-priced home.
First Monday Cafe

A growing tradition in the Gainesville area is the monthly First Monday Café, a soup lunch event, hosted in the Myrtle Mincey Fellowship Hall at St Paul, focusing on fellowship, evangelism and fundraising for our mission events.
