Adults

While we pay close attention to our programs for children and for youth, St Paul also has a vibrant and active series of programs for adults of all ages.

One of the most popular and fun programs in our Senior Adult Ministry is called FLOW, which stands for Fun and Leisure On Wednesday. We gather every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to sing, enjoy refreshments, and play games. The games include, but are not limited to, Bingo, Rummy Cube, Hand & Foot, and Rook. This is one of the most successful ministries at St. Paul. The fellowship and friendship enjoyed among the members is wonderful. FLOW is one of the best-attended activities we have here. In addition, we continue to gain new Church members through this ministry.

Our Adults enjoy a day trip almost every month, as well as several overnight trips each year. The day trips have included visiting the Georgia Aquarium, Gibbs Gardens, State Botanical Gardens, and the Explorations in Antiquity Center. Our overnight trips have been to the Winter Camp Meeting at Epworth by the Sea, Wesleyan Studies Seminar at Hiawassee, and a trip to the Hemlock Inn in Bryson City, North Carolina, where we took the train to the Nantahala Gorge. Day trips include the Billy Graham Museum and Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, Blue Willow Inn, the Byron Herbert Reece Farm and Heritage Center, Blue Ridge for the train trip to view the autumn leaves, and Babyland General in Cleveland.

Each fall St. Paul hosts a Senior Adult Luncheon, which is well-attended. We enjoy a delicious lunch and some type of entertainment.  We invite all seniors to join us, as this is a way we show our appreciation to them and affirm their value to us as active and important members of St. Paul UMC.
